"Many of you will remember Larry and Mary Clark from a few years ago. Larry was president of the club for a period of time and he also served as the SACRA BLUE editor for more than a year. Mary's contributions to the club will also be remembered by anyone that was a part of the club at that time
Larry Clark has passed away after a long illness. he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

And Other Stuff, Too!

And Dennis Duffy, who conducts the Beginner's Tutorials, has been choosing topics based on questions he receives during the prior month. Stay tuned for his next topic!
The Beginner's Tutorial session starts at 5:45pm.

Note:  Door prizes are awarded only to Sacramento PC Users Group members. Become a member before the 7:00 pm meeting start for prize eligibility.

Founded in July, 1982, the SPCUG is one of the largest PC user groups on the United States west coast. Our monthly General Meeting provides a unique forum (and 200-300 dedicated and interested computer users!) for presentations of the latest computer products and timely discussion by industry leaders.

The SPCUG is currently experimenting with providing real-time chat with the front office administration. We hope to expand this feature in the near future to include real-time chats with the SPCUG AnswerGuys and the Sacra Blue and eBlue Editors. To be honest, the likelyhood of an administrator being available for chat is not high. But try it anyway - there's nothing to lose. Real-time chat services are provided by InstantService.com.

Several SPCUG members took advantage of an offer by New Horizons on their popular Online Anytime packages. We would like to thank New Horizons for the educational rewards these members are now enjoying. We recommend that anyone who has a need for excellent courses of study in a wide range of computer technologies to give New Horizons a call.

As a benefit for SPCUG members, O'Reilly Publishing offers 20% discounts on orders placed through their Web site. Contact the WebMaster for the discount code to use during checkout.

One of the functions of the SPCUG is to publish reviews of recently released books. We do that through our Hard Copy column. Sacra Blue's Book Review Editor regularly requests books from O'Reilly and other publishers for review. SPCUG members are eligible to review books that may interest them. After making a small deposit, the member is given a month to write an acceptable article, after which the deposit is returned. So, if you have an interest, visit O'Reilly's Web site and make note of the Title, Author and ISBN number of any books you would to review and add to your library. Send that information to the Editor.
